Safety & Community Guidelines
Last updated 15 October 2026
If you are in immediate danger, call 112 first. Then use SOS in the app.
What's built in
- Verified captains. Every captain submits their driving licence, vehicle RC, an ID proof and a live selfie, and is checked before they can accept a trip.
- Know who's coming. You see your captain's name, photo and vehicle number before pickup.
- Pickup code. The trip only starts when you share your code with the captain.
- Live tracking and chat. Every trip can be followed on the map, and you can message your captain in the app.
- SOS. During a ride, one tap sends your live location and trip details to the Doio safety team.
- Purple Taxi. Women riders can choose rides driven only by verified women captains.
For riders
- Check that the vehicle number and captain match the app before you get in.
- Only share your pickup code once you're with the right captain.
- Wear a helmet on bike rides.
- Treat the captain and their vehicle with respect.
For captains
- Drive only the vehicle registered on your account, with valid documents.
- Follow traffic laws, never drive under the influence, and carry a spare helmet for bike riders.
- Start the trip only after the rider gives you the correct pickup code.
- Never ask a rider to pay outside the fare shown in the app.
For everyone
These are not allowed on Doio, and lead to suspension or a permanent ban:
- Harassment, threats, violence, or sexual or inappropriate behaviour of any kind.
- Discrimination on the basis of religion, caste, gender, disability or any other characteristic.
- Carrying or sending illegal or dangerous items.
- Fraud — fake accounts, fake trips or manipulating fares.
- Contacting a rider or captain after a trip for anything unrelated to it.
Reporting a problem
Use Profile → Help & support in the app, or email support@doio.in. Safety reports are reviewed first, and we may suspend an account while we investigate.
